B2B Collections
In some cases, demand letters or negotiations can result in satisfactory payment or settlement of business-to-business debts. However, under certain circumstances, filing a debt collection lawsuit against the debtor in civil court may be necessary. If such litigation is necessary, you need to be sure you have a qualified B2B collections attorney handling your case to ensure the most favorable results for you.
Debt Collection Litigation & Post Judgement
In cases involving collection litigation, we are fully familiar with the requirements and all rules and regulations. We guide our clients through the process and ensure proper notice, proper service and follow through with pre-trial requirements when applicable. Our firm is prepared to go to trial with all the documents supplied by the clients, and to present testimony and evidence to support the claim effectively.
Large Claim Collections
These take a much higher level of skill to complete successfully. We start by getting the debtor to talk, which in itself can take great skill and effort. Then we listen carefully. If we determine it is a straightforward collection matter, we immediately adopt a strategy to get as much money as fast as possible. But, if they go into a story about disputes or complaints, we encourage them to explain every detail about their side of the story. People like to be heard. And we like to know where the strengths and weaknesses are in solving this matter. We work to get an understanding of the personalities we are dealing with. And then we start to turn the tables, typically in the form of questions instead of statements. Using this approach, debtors are less defensive and listen better, and yet we achieve our goal: they understand the need to pay, the strength of our position, and the adverse consequences if they don’t cooperate with us.
Judgement Enforcement
Our judgment enforcement and asset protection practice is among the best in the world. We enforce and collect on judgments won through hard-fought arbitration and litigation. A favorable judgment or award is just the first hurdle. Collecting the money can be just as, if not more, challenging. We skillfully navigate various domestic and international laws to enforce judgments, including against foreign governments.
Domestication of Judgement Enforcement
You went to court and got a judgment against your debtor. That should be it, right? If the debtor does not voluntarily pay the judgment, you will still have to execute on the judgment through a garnishment, levy, or other attachment of the debtor’s assets. What if your debtor is in another State or has assets in another State? You may need to domesticate your judgment into the State where the debtor resides or has assets.

The videos are designed for corporate executives, small business owners and credit staff who are unfamiliar with commercial debt collection.
